All enjoy the same privileges. All have the same eyes to see, ears to hear, the same limbs to move about, and the power of articulation to speak. None is deprived of Nature’s instruments. For Nature extends the same facilities to all alike and grants equal protection to each. All human beings form the links in the unbreakable chain of Divinity, like beads on one string. If you try to tamper with or hurt one of them, you are bound to affect the whole chain."

Making Human Unity a Reality

Our world is in need of human unity. In our homes, our schools, our places of work, there is a need to come together and embrace each other in a spirit of love, tolerance and oneness. Doing so can help bring about peace in our homes, our neighborhoods, our communities and in the world at large. How do we live human unity? It is not enough to tell others to practice unity and peace; we must live it ourselves if we want our words to be effective.
Social Identity, Stereotypes, Prejudice and Discrimination
This article is an introductory exploration of our sense of group identity, tendency to stereotype others, the origin and nature of prejudice, and strategies to end discrimination. Within our intrapersonal self, behaviors are fueled by emotions that arise as the result of thoughts, beliefs, and stories we tell ourselves about our world. Similarly, our interpersonal self generates stories or stereotypes about people that generates the emotions of prejudice that fuel the behaviors of discrimination.
